Bring Birds Back (with watercolor wrapper)
Bring Birds Back (with watercolor wrapper)
Statistics show that 1 in 4 birds have been lost since 1970. Bring Birds Back is a one-sheet book that reminds us of the small yet meaningful things each of us can do to protect birds. It is printed letterpress from polymer plates (based on original drawings by the artist) on French Kraft-Tone Paper. The wrapper is hand-painted with watercolor on Arches Cold Press. The back cover of the book names the featured birds in chronological order: white-throated sparrow, dark-eyed junco, evening grosbeak, barn swallow, indigo bunting, and wood thrush, all of whom continue to suffer devastating losses. They are birds I have seen and heard near my home in western Massachusetts. Only these days, I see and hear them less.
